Diet Break – Thailand – Why I missed my Target

Diet break time: The trip to Thailand in December 2015 was great. I knew it would be tough and there were many factors that would mean I would not keep my target of staying under 80kg in the 3 weeks I as “normal”.

I said before in summarizing what happened during my break. I thought since there has been a lot of text on the site so far that I should treat you to some fairly exclusive photos. These highlight some of the reasons I missed my target during my diet break.

Break From Dieting – What Happened After Phase One

As planned I had completed my 20 week phase of dieting and surpassed my 10kg weight loss target by over 5kg. But now it was time for a break from dieting. I was sure though that during my intended time away that I would put some the weight back on.

The aim for this period was then to control the kilos and not pile the pounds back on. I had a specific allowance or target in mind for the 3 week period.

My Weight Loss Status For 2015

Yesterday I summarized how I planned to lose 10kg in a 20 week period at the end of 2015. I set up a number of targets along the way to make the whole process SMART. In this post I will highlight a few facts and figures to show the status.

First things first my starting weight was 93,6kg. Pretty heavy for a small guy (173cm). We, my competition and I, had discussed the challenge for a while and I actually lost 0,6kg from the previous week. But that does not count for this period although I know in my heart of hearts that I had actually peaked in weight a few weeks before.

My Weight Loss Targets For 2015

Having thought of a goal based on my motivations for losing weight in the first place I had to set up weight loss targets and goals for the short-term. In this case, it would a 20 week stint before my vacation.

What happens after that was to be decided however as I progressed into this phase of the diet, I did then set my myself a hard target of trying to get down to 70kg by mid 2016.
